Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has unveiled a proposed budget of N655.23 billion for the 2025 fiscal year, presenting it to the state House of Assembly on Tuesday.
Dubbed the “Budget of Recovery,” the plan emphasizes economic revitalization, with N406.31 billion earmarked for capital projects and N248.92 billion allocated for recurrent expenditures.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed optimism about the state’s financial trajectory, citing projections of increased revenue in 2025 compared to 2024.
“This budget reflects our unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for our people. It aligns with the promises we made during the recent gubernatorial election, where we achieved an unprecedented victory across all 18 local government areas,” Aiyedatiwa said.
He added that the administration’s economic goals are tied to leveraging the Federal Government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of the state’s citizens.
“We are determined to steer Ondo State toward significant economic growth and recovery in the coming year,” he emphasized.
During the presentation, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged lawmakers to give the budget thorough consideration and pledged his administration’s dedication to its successful implementation.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, commended the governor’s performance, attributing his electoral success to his administration’s achievements.
“We will carefully scrutinize the budget to ensure it addresses the needs of all citizens and delivers the intended positive impact,” Oladiji assured.
