The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has apprehended a businessman returning from a foreign trip for attempting to smuggle cocaine into the country.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, disclosed the arrest in a statement shared on X.com on Sunday, along with videos of the confiscated drugs.
According to Babafemi, the suspect’s nervous behavior during arrival at the airport raised suspicions among NDLEA operatives, prompting a thorough screening.
During the process, packages of cocaine concealed on his body began falling off.
Describing the incident, Babafemi said, “Narco-trend update: The moment NDLEA officers intercepted an ‘I Just Got Back’ businessman, screened him, and wraps of cocaine began to ‘rain’ from his body. Who will tell them that NDLEA will always get them no matter the mode of concealment?”
