The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Engr Michael Arimanwa, has assured Nigerians that the institution will follow due process in handling the case of one of its students, Ogechi Okoroafor, who went viral for the wrong reasons.
Punch Metro reported that Okoroafor went viral after she said she graduated from the institution with the help of God and her private part.
While the institution had revealed that it has set up a panel to investigate the issue, the embattled student in a statement through her lawyers said she did not intended to say “p*ssy”, but “pupsy”.
According to the Sun, in a latest development, Arimanwa, while speaking to newsmen on Tuesday said the Institution “About the lady that made the unfortunate video, I have received calls from people everywhere, we have set up a committee to look into that. I don’t want to preempt their outcome, they will interact with her on Tuesday (January, 7)
“I want you to know that the school has not been the best for nothing. I started schooling here in 1982, I did my ND and HND here before I became the Rector. somebody cannot just come and spoil the image of the school.
“But be assured that we are going to make our findings [known], we are not going to victimise her but we would follow the rules and due process,” Arimanwa assured.
