Enugu State Police Commissioner Kanayo Uzuegbu, has commended the people of the state for their unwavering support in combating crimes and criminal elements.
Uzuegbu gave the commendation in his New Year appreciation message through the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Tuesday in Enugu.
He urged the miscreants in the state to use the opportunity of the new year, coupled with God’s gift of life, to shun crimes and repent of their criminal ways.
The CP noted that the Command, in its bid to be more forward-looking in its policing approaches in 2024, will adopt tougher crime prevention measures and ensure that unrepentant criminals are ruthlessly dealt with.
“The command appreciates the government and citizens of Enugu State for the support given to the police in the fight against crimes and criminality in the year 2023.
“The remarkable policing feats attained by the Command would not have been possible without the unalloyed support given to it by the government, under the leadership of Gov. Peter Mbah, security stakeholders and the law-abiding citizens of Enugu State.
“I, therefore, thank and wish all and sundry a more peaceful and prosperous New Year, 2024,” he said.
