La Liga leaders, Barcelona were held to a 2-2 draw at Real Betis on Saturday after substitute Assane Diao netted a stoppage-time equaliser, providing a fitting celebration for Manuel Pellegrini in his 500th La Liga match as a manager.
The Catalan side, who currently have a five-point lead at the top, took the lead in the 39th minute.
A fluid move, led by Lamine Yamal, was expertly finished by Robert Lewandowski, marking his 16th league goal of the season.
Betis came out stronger in the second half, with Giovani Lo Celso converting a penalty to level the score.
However, Yamal’s skill once again shone when he played a perfectly disguised pass to Ferran Torres, who slotted home in the 82nd minute.
With Barcelona seemingly on their way to victory, Diao had other plans, scoring a remarkable backheel flick in the 94th minute to secure a point for Betis.
Barcelona now sit on 38 points, five ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, who have two games in hand.
