Zimbabwe’s Warriors will be aiming to break a 44-year winless streak against the Super Eagles when they face off at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday.
Their last victory over Nigeria came in 1981 during a home friendly match. Since that encounter, both sides have clashed seven times, with the Super Eagles securing four wins while three matches ended in stalemates.
The Warriors have only played in Nigeria twice for competitive fixtures, suffering heavy defeats on both occasions.
They lost 3-0 in an AFCON qualifier in 1989 and fell 5-1 in a World Cup qualifier in 2005.
In their most recent meeting on Nigerian soil, both teams played out a goalless draw in a friendly in Lagos in 2019.
The two sides last met on matchday two of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where the Super Eagles held Michael Nees’ team to a 1-1 draw.
