No fewer than 21 suspected Yoruba Nation agitators, including a female and two elderly men in their sixties, were paraded at the Oyo State Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
The Oyo state commissioner of police, Adebola Hamzat said that the suspects would be charged with treasonable felony and terrorism as investigations intensify to unmask their sponsors, and other suspects still at large.
On Saturday, some armed intruders laid siege on the Oyo State Government Secretariat attempting to enter the Governor’s Office and the state House of Assembly complex.
The suspected agitators were arrested by joint security operatives at the state government Secretariat while attempting to take over the State House of Assembly after hoisting Yoruba Nation flags.
The invaders who claimed to be members of the Yoruba nation agitators, were paraded alongside seized exhibits such as guns, ammunition, plaques with the Yoruba nation insignia, cutlasses, walkie-talkies, and other communication gadgets.
