Yobe State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Ibrahim Mallam Aliyu as substantive Local Government Auditor General.
The House confirmed the appointment of the nominee after receiving the report of its standing committee on Public Accounts.
While presenting the report, the Chairman House committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Bulama Bukar stated that the committee after a critical study of the curriculum vitae of the nominee, screened him based on his good performance and working experience.
Bukar added that the nominee, who is an active civil servant with working experience in the field of financial management and auditing, has met the requirement of the law for the appointment as Local Government Auditor General.
The Chairman of the committee urged the confirmed nominee to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him by the state government
In another development, the House has explained that the need for the executive arm of government to submit the names of two nominees to the House for confirmation as Deputy local government Auditor General for Auditing and corporate services as provided in the Audit law.
The House has suspended its plenary session for two weeks to enable members attend committee assignments within and outside the country.
