US police have arrested a 22-year-old woman, identified as Carrington Harris, after reportedly slashing her grandfather in the face during an argument over her cleanliness habits.
According to police reports, the suspect was arrested after a domestic dispute with her grandfather led to her stabbing him in the face when he asked her to shower.
Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office released on Wednesday in a press statement, “Detectives said Harris and her grandparents began arguing after they asked her to shower. She began damaging property inside the house and then turned the power off from outside,” the statement read. “Detectives say while the couple was trying to restrain Harris, she escaped and retrieved a knife from the kitchen, using it to stab her grandfather.”
Harris then fled the house and hid in the adjacent woods until being discovered by cops several hours later while hiding behind a nearby residence.
Harris was arrested and charged with domestic battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic battery with a hazardous weapon.
The 22-year-old suspect in her grandfather’s stabbing has been booked into the Caddo Correctional Centre. There was no bond set in this case as of Thursday.
Meanwhile, Caddo Parish Fire District 6 rushed Harris’ grandfather, who was stabbed in the face during the brawl, to Willis-Knighton South.
As of Thursday morning, authorities had not provided an update on his condition.
The inquiry into the incident is still underway.
