A restaurant director in Manchester, United Kingdom, Tommy Davison, has revealed an unexpected secret for his radiant complexion
Despite struggling with sleep deprivation due to his demanding role, he shared how salmon sperm has played a significant part in maintaining his youthful look.
Recently, the 27-year-old completed three sessions of a cutting-edge beauty treatment that’s gaining attention for its surprising ingredient. Known as the “salmon-sperm facial,” the treatment has caught the eye of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston, both of whom have admitted to trying it.
Is the secret to youthful, glowing skin found in salmon testicles? Kim Kardashian might be the person to ask.
Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston both admitted to having tried the unconventional “salmon sperm facial.”
In a recent episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian, the 43-year-old reality television star, revealed to her mother, Kris Jenner, that she had undergone a “salmon sperm facial.” While discussing promotional content for the Hulu series, Kardashian shared, “I got a salmon sperm facial with salmon sperm injected into my face,” without providing further details.
Kardashian isn’t alone in trying this unusual treatment. American actress Jennifer Aniston also mentioned her experience with a salmon sperm facial in an interview with The Wall Street Journal last year, although she was uncertain about its effectiveness on her skin. “First of all, I said, ‘Are you serious? How do you get salmon’s sperm?’ ” Aniston recalled.
Tommy, who had his final session in mid-August, shared how the treatment has drastically improved his appearance.
“I work long hours and start early, which affects my sleep and my skin,” he explained. “I noticed my skin looking tired and dehydrated, and when I first heard about Vitaran Polynucleotides, I was skeptical, especially since I had tried other skin boosters before.”
Initially hesitant, Tommy did his research. “I watched videos on Instagram and YouTube, and the results looked impressive. So, I decided to give it a go,” he added.
After undergoing the treatment, Tommy stressed that he’s been showered with compliments, and his skin has never felt more hydrated.
“The most noticeable change has been under my eyes,” Tommy shared. “I used to have dark circles from lack of sleep, but now that area is much brighter, and I look refreshed.”
He credited the procedure, which involves injecting polynucleotides sourced from salmon milt—essentially fish semen—for his glowing complexion.
The treatment may sound unconventional, but the aesthetician who performed the procedure at King Street Grooming in central Manchester, Dr. Patrick Robson, said the results speak for themselves.
He pointed out that his clients report fewer wrinkles, reduced fine lines, and an overall radiant, youthful look after receiving the treatment.
“The key to this procedure is the salmon DNA’s ability to stimulate collagen production, which naturally rejuvenates the skin,” Dr. Robson explained. “We can’t stop aging, but we can slow it down by enhancing skin vitality. By the time we reach our 30s, our body’s collagen production starts to decline, and this treatment helps stimulate skin cells to produce more collagen.”
Dr. Robson, who has been a dermatologist for nearly three decades, noted that more men are turning to skincare and aesthetics than ever before.
“In the past, it was difficult to get men interested in treatments like this, but the rise of male grooming on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram has changed that,” he said. “Now, more than half of our clientele are men, which is quite rare in the aesthetics industry.”
The procedure involves injecting purified, sterilized polynucleotides from salmon or trout sperm directly into the skin. Dr. Robson explained, “These polynucleotides stimulate fibroblast cells to promote collagen production, enhance skin elasticity, and increase skin cell turnover. It also helps treat lines, wrinkles, acne, and even scarring.”
In addition to its anti-aging benefits, the treatment can address pigmentation issues such as hyperpigmentation, redness, and rosacea, resulting in a more even skin tone.
“It’s not just for the face either. This treatment can be used on any area of the skin,” Dr. Robson added.
The results are noticeable within days, and the procedure’s effects last between nine to 12 months, with a minor top-up recommended to maintain the glow.
Despite the eyebrow-raising nature of using fish sperm, most clients are reassured once they understand the science behind it.
“The salmon sperm grabs attention, but it’s an effective way to deliver high-quality DNA in a large volume,” said Dr. Robson.
Tommy echoed that sentiment, saying, “It doesn’t bother me at all. A few years ago, people were obsessed with heavy fillers that didn’t age well. Now, people want more organic and safer options. Knowing that this treatment uses natural material gives me peace of mind.”
Even celebrities have chimed in on the peculiar ingredient. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, ‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston humorously shared her skepticism about the treatment.
“How do you get sperm out of a salmon?” she recalled asking her aesthetician. “It was sort of unclear. I just took the woman’s word for it and was like, ‘Sure.'” With a laugh, Aniston quipped to Kimmel, “Don’t I have beautiful salmon skin?”
Despite the oddity of the method, the results have many people—including Tommy—convinced of its effectiveness. His glowing skin has certainly sparked curiosity, and the compliments haven’t stopped since.
