Bayer Munich have dumped out Arsenal from the Champions League in thrilling fashion after a 1-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
Arsenal were arguably the better side in the first half but the Gunners could even have been in front as Gabriel Martinelli wasted a huge chance to take the lead.
The Gunners missed out on the chance to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 2009, being beaten 3-2 on aggregate.
Bayern were able to reduce the visitors to only three shots in the second half as they failed to cause any real problems.
With the score at 2-2 from the first leg in London, Kimmich’s header off Raphael Guerreiro’s pinpoint cross put Bayern ahead in the 63rd minute as Bayern largely neutralized the English team’s attack.
Harry Kane and co will now go on to face Real Madrid in the semi-finals after they beat Manchester City on penalties.
Arsenal were beaten by Bayern Munich in normal time as Joshua Kimmich’s header sent them home.
Manchester City were also eliminated from the Champions League at the quarter-final stage; Kevin De Bruyne cancelled out Rodrygo’s early goal but Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic fail from the spot as Real Madrid win 4-3 on penalties at the Etihad.
It means Bayern will progress to take on Los Blancos in one semi-final, with Borussia Dortmund facing PSG in the other.
