The Federal Road Safety Corps in Oyo State has confirmed the death of two individuals following a collision on the Ogbomoso-Ilorin Expressway.
The Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State FRSC, Mayowa Odewo, disclosed the details to journalists in Ibadan on Tuesday.
According to Odewo, the accident involved a commercial vehicle and a trailer.
“The crash resulted in the death of one male adult and one female adult, while a male child sustained injuries,” he said.
The victims were rushed to Bowen University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, where the female adult was pronounced dead. The male child is currently receiving medical treatment.
Odewo also revealed that N167,000 and the body of the deceased male were handed over to officers at the Oke Owode Police Station for further action.
He advised motorists to prioritize safety and adhere to traffic regulations, stressing the dangers of speeding and improper parking.
“Drivers must avoid overspeeding and indiscriminate parking to prevent tragedies like this,” Odewo cautioned.
The FRSC continues to urge road users to adopt safe driving practices to reduce accidents on the nation’s highways.
