Microblogging site, Twitter, has suspended American rapper, Kanye West’s account for trolling his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, as well as the new owner of the social media platform, Elon Musk.
In a tweet on Friday, Kanye he caught basketballer, Chris Paul, with his ex-wife. While, he shared Paul’s image, he didn’t put a date to it.
He tweeted, “Let’s break one last window before we get outa here. I caught this guy with Kim. Good night.”
Hitting at Musk, the controversial rapper shared an image of the billionaire on water, shirtless and said, “Let’s always remember this as my final tweet.” while Musk replied in the comment section saying “That is fine.”
He also replied to the tweet containing the removed image with “This is not.”
Kanye’s account was thereafter suspended.
Musk addressed the issue after the post’s initial removal, saying Ye breached Twitter’s rule against incitement to violence and his account would be suspended.
This is quite a test of Musk’s avowed policy of making Twitter a home for free speech, even where it offends, so long as it’s not in breach of the law.
Two weeks earlier, the social platform’s new owner welcomed Ye back from his Twitter exodus, at the same time as he restored former US president Donald Trump’s access. Ye had left Twitter after the service took action on his posts that it deemed antisemitic. The cordial relations between the two billionaires did not, however, seem to last long.
