A rather sad turn-around of events caused tragedy in Obogoro community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, as a cow for the slaughter killed a former youth president of the community.
The unfortunate incident happened on Saturday, the eve of Christmas, as a ‘christmas cow’ revolted and killed Sobokime Igodo.
According to The Sun, Igodo and his friends had contributed money to buy the cow, kill and share in celebration of the Yuletide season.
Sources revealed that, the cow suddenly got up from where it was kept to be slain and charged towards the deceased who was on a call, kicking him so hard that he landed on his back and broke his spine.
He was, thereafter, rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, before he was referred to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers when he eventually died.
