British actor Bernard Hill, renowned for his roles in ‘Titanic’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, passed away at the age of 79.
His agent, Lou Coulson, confirmed his death on Sunday to British media outlets.
Hill portrayed Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 film ‘Titanic’ and gained global acclaim as Theoden, King of Rohan, in Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lord of the Rings’ films.
Hill began his career with the BBC’s ‘Boys from the Blackstuff’ in 1982 and was set to appear in the second series of the BBC drama ‘The Responder’, starring Martin Freeman.
