President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the government and people of Ondo State following the death of Temitayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the State Government.
Oluwatuyi, popularly known as Tukana, passed away on Saturday in an undisclosed hospital after battling severe injuries from a motor accident on the Ife-Ibadan Expressway.
Reports revealed indicated that the late SSG had been under medical care for several days before succumbing to his injuries.
In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu paid tribute to Oluwatuyi, describing him as a committed public servant whose work greatly contributed to Ondo State’s development.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commiserates with the Government and people of Ondo State over the death of Temitayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the State Government,” the statement read.
The President expressed his sympathies to Oluwatuyi’s family, friends, and political colleagues, highlighting the significance of his service.
He noted that Oluwatuyi was first appointed as SSG by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in 2020 and reappointed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
“Oluwatuyi served with distinction and many recognitions before his reappointment by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa,” the statement continued.
Tinubu also acknowledged the late SSG’s contributions as a former Chairman of Akure South Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
He emphasized Oluwatuyi’s role in promoting democracy and ensuring effective governance in the state.
“President Tinubu acknowledges the diligence of the former Chairman of Akure South Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in strengthening democracy in the state,” Onanuga said.
Recognizing Oluwatuyi’s dedication, Tinubu remarked that he played a key role in policy implementation and the state’s progress. Concluding his message, Tinubu prayed for comfort for the grieving family and eternal rest for the departed soul:
“The President prays that the Almighty God will receive the departed’s soul and bring comfort and solace to his grieving family.”
