President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit at the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
The Gulfstream aircraft carrying President Tinubu and his senior aides landed at Saint Isabel Airport, Malabo, at 02:07 pm local time.
Upon arrival, the Nigerian leader was warmly received by Equatorial Guinea’s Prime Minister, Mrs. Manuela Roka Botey.
During the visit,Tinubu is scheduled to engage in discussions with President Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa in Malabo.
Their talks are expected to center on key areas of mutual interest, including oil and gas cooperation and regional security.
These discussions will culminate in the signing of several agreements aimed at strengthening the partnership between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
This visit marks President Tinubu’s first official engagement in Equatorial Guinea since taking office.
It also represents his seventh visit to an African country and the 22nd foreign trip he has embarked on since assuming the presidency approximately 15 months ago.
The trip underscores the growing ties between Nigeria and the Central African nation, particularly in the areas of energy and security.
Since taking office, the Presiden has been actively involved in international diplomacy, with visits to various key global cities and capitals.
His extensive travel itinerary includes multiple visits to Paris, France, and London, United Kingdom, as well as stops in Nairobi, Kenya; Pretoria, South Africa; and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, among others. His engagement with these countries highlights Nigeria’s strategic role in both regional and global affairs.
Accompanying the President on this visit are key members of his administration, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar.
These officials will play a significant role in the discussions and agreements that will take place during the visit, with a focus on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.
