Lazio endured a frustrating night in their pursuit of fourth place, playing out a goalless draw against Venezia in Serie A.
The Biancocelesti were already without Nicolò Rovella (suspended), Taty Castellanos, Matias Vecino, and Elseid Hysaj (injured), while Venezia, sitting second from bottom, also missed key players, including Filip Stankovic, Michel Svoboda, Domen Crnigoj, and Richie Sagrado.
The visitors had an early chance to take the lead when Boulaye Dia was played through by Mattia Zaccagni, but he squandered the opportunity, blasting over from seven yards.
Their night took another hit when Fisayo Dele-Bashiru suffered an ankle sprain, forcing Lazio to introduce debutant Reda Belahyane in an already depleted midfield.
Gustav Isaksen tested the Venezia goalkeeper with a curling effort from distance, while Mirko Maric missed a golden opportunity for the hosts, sending a header wide from Alessio Zerbin’s free kick.
Joel Schingtienne also failed to convert from close range.
As the game progressed, Venezia looked the more threatening side. Christos Mandas had to make a crucial fingertip save to deny Gaetano Oristanio’s low strike, while Yeboah missed on the counter and Zerbin’s angled effort was deflected narrowly off target.
Despite both teams pushing for a breakthrough, neither could find the finishing touch, leaving Lazio frustrated and Venezia adding another point to their survival battle.
