Nigerian music sensation, Divine Ikubor, widely recognized as Rema, is poised to make his highly anticipated debut at the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2025.
The announcement, shared via a digital flier released by the event organizers, also reveals the return of Afrobeat icon, Seun Kuti, who previously made history as the first Nigerian artist to grace the Coachella stage in 2012.
Joining the Nigerian stars are other prominent African talents, including Ghanaian singer Amaarae and South Africa’s rising star Tyla.
Their inclusion underscores the growing influence of African music on the global stage.
Coachella, held annually in the sun-soaked desert of California, United States, is celebrated as the world’s largest music and arts festival, drawing over 125,000 attendees per day.
Known for its dynamic lineup of global superstars and emerging artists, the event has become a cultural phenomenon that transcends music, blending art, fashion, and immersive experiences.
While Seun Kuti blazed the trail for Nigerian artists at Coachella over a decade ago, other Nigerian performers have since followed in his footsteps, including Mr. Eazi and Burna Boy in 2019, Ckay in 2022, and most recently, Tems earlier in 2024.
Rema’s inclusion in the 2025 lineup is another milestone, further solidifying Nigeria’s position as a powerhouse in the global music industry.
The festival promises to be a celebration of diverse sounds and artistic expressions, with Rema’s debut and Seun Kuti’s return set to captivate audiences and shine a spotlight on the vibrancy of Afrobeat and African artistry.
