The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged Nigerian Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan for prayers, spiritual reflection, and acts of charity that promote national unity and development.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the agency’s Deputy Director of Media and Communication, Paul Odenyi, Issa-Onilu emphasized the importance of peace and unity, calling on all citizens, regardless of religious or political affiliations, to pray for the progress of the nation.
“For the development of the country, all citizens must pray for peace and unity irrespective of one’s religious and political affiliation,” he stated.
The NOA chief encouraged Muslims to take advantage of Ramadan to strengthen their faith and embrace its spiritual benefits.
“All Muslims should renew their commitment to Allah and embrace the spiritual opportunities that Ramadan signifies,” he added.
He further described Ramadan as a sacred period for self-renewal and fostering humanity’s progress, assuring Nigerians that the NOA remains committed to promoting the nation’s growth.
“As an Agency, we will continue to work for the greatness of our country,” Issa-Onilu affirmed.
He also called on Nigerians to pray for the success of the current administration and contribute positively to the country’s development.
