The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has sharply slammed individuals who have publicly criticized President Tinubu Bola Tinubu’s speech regarding the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest.
Keyamo accused these critics of having ulterior motives, suggesting they aim to pressure the President into negotiating power with them.
In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Tuesday, Keyamo asserted, “Even if Mr President @officialABAT redrafts his wonderful speech one million times over, those with nefarious intentions will continue to pooh-pooh it in order to justify their continued instigation of mayhem.”
He further claimed, “Their real intention is to force the hand of Mr President to negotiate power with them. It is as simple as that. The fall guys are the ignorant, but patriotic compatriots on social media screaming their heads off and the robbers and hoodlums that are rampaging on the streets.”
Keyamo concluded by stating, “Behind all these facades is a complex chess game of power with unseen hands.”
This response follows criticism from notable figures such as Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, PDP Chieftain Dele Momodu, former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili, and Senior Advocate of Nigeria Femi Falana, who argued that the President’s address failed to address the protesters’ concerns adequately.
