The Nigerian Police Force, Federal Capital Territory Command, has disclosed that it has rescued three kidnap victims.
PUNCH METRO had on Tuesday reported that gunmen attacked Kubwa Relocation Estate, off Arab Road area of the FCT where they kidnapped seven persons.
Confirming their rescue on Wednesday, the Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said three persons have been rescued.
Adeh explained that a group of armed criminals entered the Kubwa Relocation Estate and shot two victims, Abel, also known as Oshodi, and Abdulwahab.
Adeh said, “The suspects while departing the scene, left with four victims, possibly, to enable them evade arrest by the approaching police response team deployed to the area on quick intervention.
“The two gunshot victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention but unfortunately, one of them, Oshodi could not survive as he was confirmed dead by the doctor, while Abdulwahab is still being attended to.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Sunday Babaji, said operational assets and intelligence have been deployed to strengthen security throughout the entire Kubwa area and its surroundings.
