The Nigeria Police Force has rescued Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, the wife of former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, after she was abducted at her residence in Arepo, Ogun State.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the development on Thursday via his official X account.
He disclosed that the abductors were neutralized during the operation, and the ransom they had demanded was recovered by the operatives.
“The wife of the former Assistant Inspector General, Hakeem Odumosu, has been successfully rescued. The abductors were neutralized, and the ransom used as bait was retrieved,” Adejobi stated.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the police team involved in the rescue operation, as well as the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, for their swift and effective response.
“The Inspector General of Police appreciates the commitment and diligence of the operatives and the Ogun State Police Command. This success underscores our dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians,” Adejobi added.
Mrs. Odumosu was kidnapped last Thursday at the entrance of her home, sparking concerns about the increasing spate of abductions in the region.
