The Sokoto State Police Command has launched an investigation into the brutal murder of a middle-aged woman found dead in a hotel room within the metropolis.
The victim, a divorcee and mother of four, was discovered with a slit throat in the toilet of the hotel room, where she had allegedly gone with her killer.
According to The PUNCH, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmed Rufai the police have gathered useful information from documents left behind by the suspect in the hotel room and at the reception.
“We are working diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding this heinous crime and will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
“We will update the press on our investigation as it goes on but for now, we are on it,” he added.
Sources close to the deceased revealed that she was a regular visitor to the hotel, and her tragic death has sent shockwaves through the community.
