Operatives of the Ebonyi State Police Command have apprehended a suspect, Ovuta Chigozie, from Okoffia community in the Ezza South Local Government Area, for allegedly being in possession of two human skulls and three locally made firearms.
The State Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, revealing that Chigozie admitted the skulls were handed to him to prepare a spiritual concoction.
“Authorities are actively pursuing the individual mentioned in connection with this case,” Ukandu stated.
In a related operation, the police uncovered a syndicate specializing in altering the colours of stolen tricycles brought in from neighbouring states.
According to Ukandu, the syndicate’s discovery followed the tracking of a stolen tricycle, leading to the arrest of four suspects, Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba.
“Three stolen tricycles were recovered from the suspects, who admitted to receiving the vehicles from accomplices for colour modifications,” the statement read.
The police assured that all suspects would be arraigned in court upon the completion of investigations.
