The Kano State Police Command has revealed that intelligence reports have exposed a planned violent protest by certain individuals in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, stated that security personnel, working alongside other agencies, have been deployed to key locations across Kano Metropolis to prevent the protest.
The statement further noted that necessary measures have been put in place to avert any potential disruption of law and order.
As part of these efforts, 17 suspected thugs have been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
The command also cautioned individuals and groups against participating in any form of unlawful gathering, procession, or violence, warning that such acts “will be met with a swift and decisive response from security agencies.”
Urging residents to remain vigilant, the police encouraged them to report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
“The Command appreciates the cooperation and support of the good people of Kano State in our efforts to maintain peace and order,” the statement added.
