The Bauchi State Police Command has ramped up security across the state in preparation for the upcoming Eid-El-Maulud celebration.
The move is aimed at ensuring a peaceful and incident-free event, according to a statement issued by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed.
According to The PUNCH, Wakil emphasized the importance of increased vigilance, noting that the police command has directed all area commanders, divisional police officers, and tactical units to enhance their patrols and security efforts throughout the state.
“In line with the command’s commitment to maintaining peace during the celebration, the commissioner has instructed heightened patrols and the deployment of additional resources,” Wakil stated.
“Our intelligence operations have also been bolstered to address any potential threats to public safety.”
The Commissioner of Police also urged the Muslim community to use the occasion to foster peace and unity.
“We call on all Muslim faithful to embrace the spirit of peace, unity, and tolerance, especially during this period,” he said.
Additionally, the police command encouraged all residents of Bauchi State to remain vigilant, celebrate responsibly, and respect the law.
