The Gombe State Police Command has announced a restriction on movement between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m., which will take effect from February 7, 2025.
The PUNCH reported that the decision follows intelligence reports revealing an increasing threat to public safety in the state.
Disclosing this development, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said, “Intelligence reports inundating the Gombe State Police Command point to the rising threats to the safety and security of the citizens in the State.
“The Command has resolved to curb the menace of these threats and placed restrictions on movements between the hours of 12am to 5am starting from 7th February 2025.”
He further assured residents of the police command’s commitment to their protection.
“The Command prioritised the safety and security of the citizens and urged members of the public to cooperate with the police in making the state a safe place to thrive,” Abdullahi stated.
Parents and guardians were also urged to advise their wards to adhere to the restriction, with a firm warning that violations will be met with consequences.
“The Command also advised the parents/guardians to caution their wards, as the police will not tolerate any form of violation of this restriction,” Abdullahi added.
