The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the deployment of officers to the site of Thursday night’s abduction of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu.
This was revealed by the State Police Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, in a statement released in Abeokuta on Friday.
Odutola stated that Mrs. Odumosu, a resident of Aminu Street in Orange Estate, Arepo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, was abducted around 9:55 p.m. while arriving at her residence.
She detailed that four masked assailants ambushed her, forcibly removed her from her Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle, and took her through a swampy area to an undisclosed location.
“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Warewa Division has led a team of officers to the scene, where they are actively combing the swampy bush area,” Odutola said.
She further noted that the DPO has reached out to the heads of Warewa and Maaba communities, urging them to mobilize local security forces to secure the riverine region.
“Further updates will be provided,” she added.
According to Odutola, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has been informed of the incident, and all necessary operations, including digital intelligence support, have been activated to facilitate the victim’s swift rescue.
