The Lagos State Police Command has declared Benjamin Best, a well-known Instagram influencer known as “Killaboi”, a wanted person in connection with the alleged killing of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion.
In a disturbing turn of events, Killaboi made a series of confessional posts on his Instagram account in July, revealing his involvement in the death of Augusta Osedion.
According to his posts, a heated argument between them escalated, resulting in him stabbing her. Fearful of the consequences, he subsequently fled his residence in Lagos.
“I got into an argument with my girlfriend @austa xxo which fight I mistakenly stabbed her and ran away out of fear and been suicidal since then(sic)” he wrote.
“I intend to end my life now cause I have lost the one I cherish so much. I want to do the right thing and turn myself in. I will gladly die by paying with my life now.”
He also made the same confession via his now-deleted X page, @Vvs_crypt.
The confessions posted on social media raised concerns, prompting an investigation by law enforcement agencies.
Subsequently, the Lagos State Police Command has taken the decisive step of declaring Killaboi a wanted individual as part of their ongoing efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding Augusta Osedion’s tragic death.
Following several weeks of netizens requesting his arrest on Twitter, the Lagos State Police Command issued a statement on Tuesday declaring Best wanted.
“The Lagos State Police Command hereby declares wanted Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo,” the statement read. “Nnanyereugo is suspected to have murdered his girlfriend, 21-year-old Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion on July 13, 2023, in his Oral Estate, Ajah home.”
In the release signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hudeyin, it was revealed that “all available options” have been “exhausted” to have him arrested.
“The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall, and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo, and pidgin English fluently. If seen, please contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727,” the statement added.
