Another petroleum tanker carrying 50,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit commonly known as petrol, has overturned in Oyo State.
The accident took place along the Ogbomoso/Ilorin Expressway, prompting an immediate response from emergency officials.
Confirming the incident on Thursday, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, stated that his team was swiftly mobilized to the scene.
“Today Thursday 6th March 2025, at exactly 09:20hrs we were called.
“On arrival, we met a Mack Trailer registration no FGE/667H (Kano) /loaded with 50,000 litres of P.M.S that has summersaulted in the open road and the P.M.S gushing out.
“Instantly, we ‘blanket’ the area with foam compound to neutralize the flammability of the spilled contents from attracting unnecessary naked fire,” he said.
This latest mishap comes just days after another fuel-laden tanker fell at Olope Marun, along the Ogbomoso/Oyo Road.
