Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked a place in the next qualifying round of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France after humbling Ethiopia 4-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, on Tuesday, October 31.
The two nations played out a 1-1 draw when they met in the first leg in Addis Ababa, on Wednesday, October 25.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday’s game, a brace by Rasheedat Ajibade and one goal each from Uchenna Kanu and Asisat Oshoala ensured Nigeria scaled through to the next round with a massive 5-1 aggregate scoreline.
After missing a couple of clear chances earlier on in the game, Kanu finally opened the scoring for the Falcons just before the halftime break. Ajibade doubled the lead in the opening ten minutes of the second half before Oshoala further extended the advantage with a fine header in the 68th minute.
Oshoala turned provider once again as she set up Ajibade for her second goal of the game in the 72nd minute to give the Super Falcons a comfortable 4-0 win.
