Nigeria’s Isau Ogunkunle has continued his remarkable journey at the ongoing Paralympics in Paris by advancing to the semifinals in the men’s Singles Class 4 Para-Table Tennis event.
In a thrilling quarterfinal match, Ogunkunle overcame a challenging start to defeat France’s Maxime Thomas, a seasoned Paralympian with three bronze medals to his name.
Despite losing the opening set, Ogunkunle displayed exceptional resilience, rallying back to claim a 3-1 victory with scores of 9-11, 11-5, 11-9, 11-6.
This victory marks Ogunkunle’s second triumph over a top-seeded opponent at these Games, underlining his growing stature on the global stage.
