The kingmakers in Ekoende town in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State on Saturday have selected Alhaji Adekunle Abdulwaheed Babatunde as the Oba-elect of the town.
Reports revealed that the selection of Babatunde was made following a rigorous and comprehensive selection process with regards to the long-standing customs and traditions of the town.
The kingmakers, led by High Chief Isaac Kolawole Ogunkeye, explained that he was selected after careful evaluation of his qualifications, experience, and commitment to the betterment of the town.
He called on residents and indigenes of the town to back the new monarch.
“It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce the selection of Alhaji Adekunle AbdulWaheed Babatunde, FCA, as the Oba elect of Ekoende in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Osun State.
“The decision to select Alhaji Adekunle Abdulwaheed was made after a rigorous and comprehensive selection process, which involved careful evaluation of his qualifications, experience, and commitment to the betterment of Ekoende.
“The selection process was conducted following our long-standing customs and traditions. All the 5 Afobajes led by High Chief Isac Kolawole Ogunkeye considered Alhaji Adekunle’s qualifications, character, and dedication to community development,” they said.
