Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to join Turkish giants Galatasaray, potentially putting an end to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his football career.
The Nigerian forward, who has had a strained relationship with his current club Napoli following a controversial social media incident last season, was previously linked with moves to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli and Chelsea, but both transfers fell through.
Paris Saint-Germain also showed interest in the Super Eagles star earlier in the transfer window.
According to recent reports, Osimhen has now decided to make the move to Galatasaray, although he is seeking revisions to some of the terms in his existing contract with Napoli.
Sources suggest that Galatasaray has already made arrangements for a private jet to transport the player to Turkey once all parties reach an agreement.
Renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, provided further insight into Osimhen’s demands, stating, “Victor Osimhen has accepted to join Galatasaray on loan. Understand Osimhen’s now asking for release clause at Napoli to become €75m instead of €130m. Also wants a break clause for January in case top clubs approach him over move. Final points being discussed.”
The loan deal, which does not include a buy option or obligation clause, will see Galatasaray cover Osimhen’s salary, reportedly in the range of €9-10 million, until the end of the season.
At 25, Osimhen is also expected to join up with his Nigerian teammates for the upcoming international qualifiers this month, marking the next chapter in his eventful career.
