The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has ordered legal action against controversial artist, Habeeb Okikiola also known as Portable.
Punch Metro reported that the Zazzu singer claimed to have founded two of the deadliest cult groups, ‘One Million Boys’ and ‘Ajah Boys’, terrorizing many parts of Lagos and Ogun states.
Until the time of the viral video, the police are yet to unmask the sponsors and face behind the groups, especially the ‘one Million Boys’ which terrorized Lagos during the COVID-19-induced lockdown period.
Residents were forced to form vigilance groups to avoid being attacked after a series of threats were sent to some residents in the state.
“Listen to me well, have you heard about Ajah Boys, One Million Boys, I’m their founder. Go and ask Sammy larry,” Portable boasted in the video.
However, the IGP’s position was confirmed in a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Monday.
It read, “Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.
“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society.”
