Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid tribute to women worldwide for their resilience, dedication, and accomplishments in celebration of the 2025 International Women’s Day.
The annual event, observed on March 8, carries the theme “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” This theme underscores the importance of fostering a society where women and girls can reach their full potential without barriers.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Tinubu emphasized the need for women to uplift and support one another.
“Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of all women and girls across Nigeria and the world,” she said.
She highlighted the significance of this year’s theme, describing it as a call to action for equality and empowerment.
“It serves as a powerful reminder of the need to reaffirm our commitment to building a society where every woman and girl can thrive, free from discrimination and limitations,” she stated.
Encouraging women to play an active role in driving positive change, the First Lady urged unity and solidarity.
“I believe it is time for women to make this happen. Let us all endeavour to lift each other up, one woman at a time,” she added.
