Former Arsenal and Tottenham striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, will mark the end of his illustrious career with a star-studded jubilee from October 25 to 27 in his hometown of Lomé.
Having officially announced his retirement on March 21, 2023, Adebayor has invited a host of football legends to commemorate the conclusion of his remarkable journey in the sport.
Throughout his career, the ex-Real Madrid forward made 593 appearances, netted 207 goals, and delivered 62 assists.
The event will be hosted at Stade de Kégué and is anticipated to be an extraordinary celebration, featuring around twenty distinguished players from across Africa and beyond.
Among the notable guests expected at this event are Nigerian legends Austin Jay Jay Okocha, who recently turned 51, and Nwankwo Kanu, as reported by Togo News.
In tribute to Adebayor’s dedication to football, these former Super Eagles stars will be joined by international icons, including Barcelona’s Ronaldinho, Arsenal’s Thierry Henry, and Chelsea’s Didier Drogba.
Okocha and Kanu, both celebrated for their outstanding leadership and on-field brilliance, will add a special touch to the occasion.
Their presence, alongside other African football greats like Abedi Pelé and Samuel Eto’o, underscores the significance of this jubilee, not just for Adebayor but for African football as a whole.
The celebration will pay tribute to Adebayor’s career, which spanned more than two decades, during which he scored 32 goals in 87 appearances for Togo.
