A man identified as Akeem has been arrested by the police in Ogun State on suspicion of orchestrating a plan to have his girlfriend raped by his friend, Suleiman Olaniyi, who is believed to be a member of the Eiye confraternity.
According to the state’s police spokesman, Omolola Odutola, the victim reported the incident on October 8.
She stated that Akeem arranged a meeting with her at his friend’s residence in the Agbero area of Ode Remo.
The victim recounted that Akeem left the room under the pretext of something, and shortly after, “The owner of the room, Suleiman Olaniyi, a member of the Eiye confraternity, burst into the room.”
He allegedly ordered her to lie down against her wishes and attempted to engage in non-consensual sexual intercourse with her.
The victim’s screams alerted neighbors, who promptly intervened by forcing the door open and rescuing her.
Although her underwear was torn, penetration was prevented due to her resistance and eventual rescue.
