The Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria has reassured Nigerians that there is no need to engage in panic buying of fuel, as current supplies are stable and abundant.
This assurance came through a statement issued on Thursday in Lagos by MEMAN’s CEO, Mr. Clement Isong, following concerns among the public about potential fuel shortages.
Isong explained that the association’s extensive stockpiles, bolstered by partnerships with key suppliers such as Dangote Refinery and NNPC Trading Limited, put MEMAN in a strong position to meet demand.
“MEMAN assures the public and all stakeholders that we have significant stocks of products in our tanks and access to supplies from our partners, including Dangote Refinery and NNPC Trading Limited. We also have a clear outlook on future supplies of all petroleum products,” he affirmed.
Isong further emphasized how the diversification of supply sources and Nigeria’s recent deregulation of the oil market has equipped diligent marketers with the means to secure necessary reserves well in advance, thus reducing the likelihood of supply disruptions.
This strategy, he said, has allowed MEMAN to create a more resilient supply chain, helping to sustain continuous availability in an evolving energy landscape.
With logistical operations being continuously optimized, Isong reiterated the importance of maintaining calm and avoiding panic buying.
“Supply efficiency was improving, and logistics operations were being optimised,” he noted, assuring consumers that MEMAN members remain committed to enhancing their supply chains to maintain consistent levels of availability, affordability, and accessibility.
In an increasingly competitive fuel market, MEMAN’s efforts underscore their dedication to stability and customer confidence.
