Nollywood actress Chika Ike has firmly dismissed speculation that billionaire politician Ned Nwoko is the father of her unborn child.
Addressing the rumors on social media, Ike stated unequivocally that her pregnancy has no ties to Nwoko and that she has no interest in polygamy.
The actress, known for maintaining a private personal life, took to Instagram to debunk the claims, emphasizing that her child’s identity and well-being are her top priorities.
“There have been all sorts of lies spread about me in the media for years, but I always treated them as mere rumors that didn’t deserve a response,” she wrote. “But this is different—this is about my child.”
The rumors surfaced on February 17, with social media users speculating that Ike was expecting a child with Nwoko and could be joining his household as his seventh wife.
However, the actress swiftly put an end to the gossip, stating:
“Ned isn’t the father of my child, and I’m not about to be anyone’s seventh wife. Polygamy isn’t for me.”
She also criticized those attempting to uncover details about her private life, calling their efforts “laughable and clueless.”
“I’ve been pregnant for months now, and no one even had a clue until I announced it. And you think you’ll know who the father of my child is? Keep digging and coming up with false news,” she added.
Ike made it clear that she is not concerned about speculation regarding her personal life but felt compelled to respond because the rumors involved her child.
“My privacy is my peace, and no one can unsettle me,” she stated. “I’m basking in the joy of my pregnancy, and that’s all that matters to me now.”
