Two Kogi State Government officials have voluntarily presented themselves at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission headquarters in Abuja.
According to The PUNCH, this is contained in a statement released on Monday by State Information Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo.
Despite not receiving formal summons, the officials opted to appear at the EFCC headquarters to demonstrate their commitment to transparency and cooperation with the investigation.
The exact nature of the allegations remains unspecified, though it is likely connected to ongoing probes into the activities of current and former government officials.
Fanwo emphasized that the Kogi State Government has consistently maintained transparency and is willing to cooperate fully with anti-corruption agencies.
He expressed hope that the EFCC would conduct their investigations professionally in response to the officials’ cooperative actions.
“We aim to maintain the trust of our development partners, who have acknowledged our dedication to transparency, accountability, and integrity,” Fanwo stated.
