A 37-year-old auxiliary nurse named Fisayo Ogedengbe, who was arrested in connection with the controversial death of hip hop artiste Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has been sent back to custody by the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba.
Allegedly, the nurse administered injections to the late singer, resulting in his death.
Similarly, the magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, ordered that Ayobani Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad who is also being held as a suspect in the case, should be returned to police custody.
However, Naira Marley, also known as Azeez Fashola, Mohbad’s former boss, and Sam Larry, a Lagos socialite, were granted bail in the sum of N20m each. They were implicated in Mohbad’s death and taken into custody by the police on October 6.
The magistrate stated, “The defendants (Naira Marley and Sam Larry) are hereby granted bail in the sum of N20m with three responsible sureties in like sum pending the legal advice from the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution.”
As part of the bail conditions, one of the sureties must own a landed property, and the defendants are required to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Olatunbosun also issued a warning that no one should contact her directly regarding the case.
She added, “Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.”
The police stated that the investigation is still ongoing, and as a result, Olatunbosun adjourned the case until November 29 for further advice from the DPP.
