Tito Jackson, a founding member of the legendary Jackson 5 and older brother of Michael Jackson, has passed away at the age of 70.
His sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson, confirmed the news on Instagram, expressing their deep grief over the loss of their father.
The family has not yet disclosed the official cause of death, but Steve Manning, a close family friend and former manager of the Jackson family, shared that Tito passed away on Monday.
The Instagram post from Tito’s sons, who were part of the 1990s R&B group 3T, read: “We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared deeply about everyone.”
The Jackson brothers, Tito, Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, rose to fame in the 1960s as the Jackson 5, becoming one of Motown’s biggest acts with hits like “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “The Love You Save.”
In their tribute, Tito’s sons wrote, “He will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to follow our father’s message to ‘Love One Another.’ We love you, Pops.”
