Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Ademola Lookman, has solidified his reputation as one of football’s finest talents by securing a nomination for the prestigious EA SPORTS FC Team of the Year.
The 27-year-old Atalanta attacker, who was recently honoured as the 2024 CAF Player of the Year, stands as the sole Nigerian male player among the 70-man shortlist.
Lookman’s exceptional season included leading Atalanta to a UEFA Europa League triumph with a memorable hat-trick in the final and playing a pivotal role in Nigeria’s impressive run to the AFCON final.
The star-studded 70-man shortlist features global icons like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Other African players in contention include Sehrou Guirassy of Guinea and Borussia Dortmund, Wilfried Singo of Côte d’Ivoire and AS Monaco, and Mohamed Salah of Egypt and Liverpool.
