Paris St. Germain were held to a 1-1 draw by mid-table Stade de Reims at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.
Despite the stalemate, the French champions extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to 10 points.
The match started with PSG on the front foot, with Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos testing the Reims defense.
However, the visitors also posed a threat, with Keito Nakamura forcing a save from Gianluigi Donnarumma during an energetic opening half.
Luis Enrique’s side broke the deadlock just two minutes into the second half when Ousmane Dembele found the back of the net with a left-footed strike.
The goal was set up by debutant Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who impressed in his first appearance for the Parisians.
Reims, however, refused to back down and drew level in the 56th minute. Nakamura finished off a quick counter-attack orchestrated by Marshall Munetsi, ensuring the visitors left the capital with a share of the spoils.
PSG pushed for a late winner, with substitute Bradley Barcola and Vitinha coming close, but Reims held firm to secure the draw.
“It was a complicated game. Reims are a good team,” said Kvaratskhelia. “We could have won, we had a lot of chances, but we have to keep working and the results will follow. It wasn’t easy. We deserved the draw.”
Looking ahead, PSG will travel to VfB Stuttgart for their final group stage match in the Champions League as they aim to secure a playoff spot.
“Now we have to focus on Wednesday’s game because we’re playing every three days. We need to recover well,” said defender Lucas Hernandez.
PSG are coming off a morale-boosting 4-2 victory over Manchester City in midweek action in Europe’s premier club competition.
