The Lagos State University management has announced the resumption of academic and other activities starting from Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Last Thursday night, the institution’s management announced that campus activities would stay suspended until further notice, despite the initial day of the nationwide protest being relatively peaceful in the state.
This decision comes after a thorough review of the current national situation.
The Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, communicated this update in a statement released on Tuesday evening.
She mentioned that the initial suspension of university activities, which was set for Wednesday, July 31, 2024, and Thursday, August 1, 2024, has now been lifted.
“By this directive, the initial suspension on activities on the university campuses announced on Wednesday, 31st July 2024, and Thursday, 1st August 2024, respectively, is hereby lifted.
“Members of staff and students are therefore expected back on campus on Tuesday, 6th August 2024.
“Management, however, urges members of the university community to continue to be vigilant upon resumption on Tuesday as their well-being is of utmost importance.”
The resumption marks the end of a brief hiatus, allowing staff and students to return to their academic and administrative duties.
The university’s management has emphasized the importance of remaining alert to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of the institution.
