The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has approved the use of ‘Career Paths and Opportunities For Engineering, Science, Art and Management Students’ in all secondary schools across the state.
The approval was confirmed in a letter dated May 7 and signed by Mr Adedamola Abatan on behalf of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry.
‘Career Paths’, authored by Sheriff Lamidi; a researcher and faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu, provides a comprehensive guide to empower students to make informed decisions about their future careers.
The education ministry said, “The book has been thoroughly reviewed and is deemed a fitting career path guide for students in Secondary schools under the guidance of a Counsellor.”
This landmark approval marks a significant milestone in the author’s efforts to enhance and contribute to the quality of education and prepare students for success in an increasingly complex and competitive world.
Reacting, Lamidi hailed the Lagos State Government for its forward-thinking approach to education.
