Nollywood movie, King of Thieves, is being considered to make the Oscars list in the next edition of the award.
Produced by Femi Adebayo, King of Thieves has got everyone gushing over it with international recognition from all over the globe.
According to a distribution company, Filmone Entertainment, King of Thieves officially hit the N300 million mark earlier in 2022. The Femi Adebayo Salami-produced film is now the 5th Nollywood film and the first indigenous film to hit the milestone.
The actor, on his official Twitter handle, shared interesting insights of how his wave-making movie made it to the Oscars selection committee level.
“Amongst all movies submitted to the Nigerian Oscars selection committee, 3 movies topped with #KingOfThieves” been 1 of them.
“Interestingly, all 3 are indigenous Epic movies. This is great proof that telling our true African story will open us to the global market.
“Now, the Nigerian Oscars selection committee have been compelled to present a movie latest Oct 21. I’m hopeful that #KingOfThieves can put us on the global trend ‘cos we made a great film and hope to bring home the win that we deserve.”, he shared.
