Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the sum N977,023,000 to pay the 2023 National Examination Council fees for the 48,385 candidates in the state.
The governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the beneficiaries are those who sat for the 2023 exams conducted by NECO.
“One of the cardinal agenda of Governor Dikko Radda’s administration, among several others, is repositioning Katsina State’s education sector”, said Mohammed.
“And His Excellency, since assuming office, has demonstrated absolute commitment towards fixing Katsina’s primary, secondary and tertiary education systems.
“The approval he gave today for the huge sum of over N977 million to be used in settling the NECO fees of no fewer than 48,000 Katsina students says it all about His Excellency’s passion for Katsina youths and their educational development.”
In another development, Umaru Radda said in continuation of his strategic engagement with international bodies, he has visited the headquarters of the World Medical Relief Inc. in Detroit, Michigan, United States.
The Governor stated further that he met with the President of the organization, Mr George V. Samson, and his team.
“During the visit, I got the support of the organisation to provide medical supplies and equipment towards the improvement of our health care system,” he wrote on X.
